NINGBO, China, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Olympic silver medalist Tian Tao of China won the gold medal in the men's 96kg at the Asian Weightlifting Championships here on Thursday.
The 25-year-old met no challenge at all since the snatch competition as he managed to lift 181kg, beating other lifters by a margin of 7 kilos to come into the jerk.
Tian, the silver medalist at the Worlds last year, only succeeded in the first jerk at 220kg for a winning total of 401kg, taking next two attempts of 231kg in vain.
Seyedayoob Mousavijarai of Iran took the silver totaling at 373kg while Han Jun-hoon of South Korea grabbed the bronze at 366kg.
