YANGON, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities recently signed 30 proposals submitted by local and foreign investors for Rakhine state, according to the Information Ministry on Friday.
About 5.249 billion U.S. dollarsworth of investment proposals - 27 Expressions of Interests, two project proposals and one business-to-business Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) - were signed at the regional investment fair which was held in Rakhine state last month.
The signed investments mainly cover the state's hotels and tourism sectors, agriculture, energy, livestock and fishery, production, construction, human resource development and other sectors.
Myanmar authorities have been holding regional investment fairs to invite local and foreign investments in order to promote economic development in the country's regions and states.
Yangon region attracts 60 percent of investments from both home and abroad, followed by Mandalay with 30 percent.
