FARAH, Afghanistan, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces fought back powerful militants attack in the western Farah province, killing at least seven insurgents and wounding three others, an official said Wednesday.
"Militants loyal to the Taliban group launched a massive attack on a security check post, late on Tuesday, in Deh Yak district of Farah province, but faced strong counterattack and dispersed, after leaving seven fighters dead and three others wounded," Mohebullah Moheb, the provincial police spokesman, told Xinhua.
The Taliban militants fighting government forces in the area, have not immediately commented on the incident.
