BANGKOK, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- One Indian tourist was killed and another was seriously injured following a brief shoot-out in a busy district of Thailand's capital Bangkok on Sunday night, police said.
A few adolescents had opened gunfire on a gang of teenagers from an alley next to a parking lot of Centara Watergate Pavilion shopping mall in Pratunam area but it hit the two Indian tourists and three others, said Metropolitan Police One commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Senit Samransamruatkit.
The unidentified young men were believed to arm themselves with AK-47 assault rifles and fired on their enemies who were running for cover in the parking lot area.
They incidentally killed the 42-year-old male and seriously wounded the 45-year-old male, according to the police general.
Besides, two Thai males and one Lao male were injured by gunfire and rushed to hospitals nearby.
The police have launched investigation into the rare street fight with the use of war weapons in Bangkok.
