YANGON, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 11 kg of heroin in Sagaing region, the official daily Myanma Alinn reported on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched two motorcycles in Kale township on Feb. 28, confiscating the drug and arresting two suspects, the report said.
The seized heroin has an estimated street value of 550 million kyats (about 260,000 U.S. dollars), it added.
The two suspects have been charged under Myanmar's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigations were underway. ■
